Seeing yellow leaves, holes, or stunted growth in your aquarium plants?
Delhi’s hard water, light conditions, and fertilizer imbalances can cause issues even for experienced hobbyists. Here’s how to troubleshoot it.
Common Issues and Fixes:
1. Yellowing Leaves:
Cause: Nitrogen deficiency or low lighting
Fix: Increase KNO₃ dosing, improve lighting hours (6–8 hours max)
2. Transparent or Pinholes in Leaves:
Cause: Potassium or magnesium deficiency
Fix: Add K₂SO₄ or MgSO₄. Consider switching to a balanced fert.
3. Stunted Growth:
Cause: Micronutrient deficiency (Fe, trace elements)
Fix: Dose CSM+B or equivalent trace mix 3x/week.
4. Algae + Poor Growth:
Cause: Overdosing or imbalance. Too much light + micros = algae, no growth.
Fix: Reduce light, stabilize dosing.
Use a weekly routine and stick to it.
Delhi-Specific Tips:
- Hard water: Many plants can’t absorb iron well in high KH. Use chelated Fe or consider RO blending.
- Seasonal shifts: Summer heat speeds up metabolism—plants need more nutrients. Winter slows growth.
- Tap water pH: High pH can lock out nutrients. Test regularly.
